What you can expect from the LAP program with

Coach Marli

Sports Nutrition

LAP enables athletes to understand and develop plans to fuel their practices and swim meets. Athletes will learn how to build performance plates based on all training intensities, pre-and post-training fueling and meet performance fuel planning and recovery. Meal planning and recipes are included to provide a framework and new ideas for families.

Strength Training

LAP provides strength development programming to help swimmers become more powerful in the water. Workouts are designed specifically for swimmers who do not have dryland training through their club/team. Swimmers with access to dryland training can use these guides, demos and weekly programming as an added, convenient resource when traveling or away from their home pool.

Yoga

LAP helps athletes recover fully and gain flexibility and mobility with swim-specific yoga sequences developed for maximizing coordination, balance and control. The LAP program provides progressive, daily routines for swimmers to utilize during their own time, as needed and desired.

About Coach Marli

RN, Certified in Sports Nutrition, Personal Training, and Teen Yoga

As a Registered Nurse, Coach Marli has always been passionate about health and wellness. She began her nursing career in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and transitioned to working in general pediatrics before retiring from the traditional medical field. Marli cares deeply about the health of athletes (particularly teen swimmers) and is troubled by the declining health of our nation’s youth. She is passionate about health education and provides a holistic approach to promoting excellent health in athletes.

Coach Marli knows firsthand the challenge of nurturing high-performing athletes. Guiding her own sons through their year-round club swimming and preparing them for collegiate swimming careers, Coach Marli developed a unique and systematic approach to maintaining health and nourishment, strength and recovery, and stress management. 

Coach Marli witnesses countless athletes struggle with training and performance on a daily basis as a USA Swimming Coach.  Athletes too often come to practice and swim meets dehydrated, significantly under-fueled, and overly stressed out from life outside sports.  Many are uncoordinated, can’t reach the blocks, and struggle with balance.

Coach Marli is committed to helping athletes become as healthy as possible and supporting them in reaching their optimal level of training and performance. Integrating Sports Nutrition, Personal Training and Specified Teen Yoga, she created the LAP program to enable swimmers and families to build a sustainable foundation of excellent health and wellness through a Lifestyle of Athletic Performance. LAP nurtures the whole athlete. The skills and strategies LAP provides are critical for the next practice or meet, but they are even more important to establishing a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
